Liam turns 8

A few weeks ago Liam celebrated his 8th birthday at Extreme Air.
First up was the velcro wall. The kids took turns putting on velcro suits and them jumping up against the wall.
It was as awesome as it sounds.

My camera wasn't cooperating that day so I didn't get the pictures I wanted, but you get the idea.

They even had adult suits! Tiffany and I want to go back :)

Next up were the foam skateboards.

That way the boys could skate on the trampolines.

Max taking a turn on the velcro wall:

After that the boys jumped and played some dodgeball. Then it was time for pizza, presents and cake!

Blowing out the candles:

Max had a blast! Happy Birthday Liam!

Friendly fighting

Last week the G boys came over to play. Evan was so excited that Elliott wanted to play with him! Elliott is such a great kid - he's so laid back and happy. After a while they decided to wrestle on my bed....

Evan said, "I'm Green Goblin!" (when he wrestles with Ian they always pick Marvel characters to be). Elliott replied, "I'm Elliott!" Truth be told, Elliott didn't need an alter ego - he was awesome as himself.

I love Evan's face in this picture. He really gets into character.

Face smash!

Preparing for more.

Sneak attack!

They'd fight, get up and then circle each other.

I was amazed that there weren't any tears or yelling (which there are a lot of whenever Max is involved). Just friendly wrestling.

Elliott was the clear winner at the end - although we let Evan believe he won (it's quieter that way).

Boys are fun.

Cake

Mama Mia was everything I expected it to be and more. LOVED it! Let's just say there were people dancing in the aisles at the end. I'm going again next week when Ian can watch the boys. My dad is an awesome grandpa...but not an awesome babysitter. He lost Evan without even knowing it - thank you Laura for saving him! And he caught Evan playing in the toliet numerous times. I'm reminded of the time when he was watching Max...and Max went home. Ian happened to be driving home and saw Max wandering down towards our house. Or the time when Adam was young and we had horses. And we found Adam in with the horses...Sigh. I still love you dad, but I guess somethings never change.

This weekend would've sucked if it weren't for Tiffany letting us bombard her house 2 nights in a row. I really feel like she gets the short end of the stick in our friendship. Let's just keep that on the down-low.

Tayler showing off the finished cake

Tonight we attempted the Death by Chocolate cake again. This time with raspberries and slivered almonds. Better than last week but still can be improved upon. Tiffany thinks we need to make whipped creme frosting for our next attempt. And use sliced strawberries instead of the raspberries. This is why we are friends. These things don't occur to me.

Us girls watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants while the boys watched Avatar. Evan and Elliott became friends. And I have long suspected that Evan has a crush on Tayler (good taste).

I don't know if you can see, but Evan sustained an injury around his eye...we think it's rug burn. The bigger boys like to take foam pads and slide down the stairs. Ben says they slid right over Evan's face. Poor kid had a rough day...first grandpa loses him and now this! It's tough being #4.

The Goings On

This is Elliott. One of the funniest and cutest kids around. Too bad he doesn't belong to me. Last night Tiffany let me come over to her house for a kid-free So You Think You Can Dance party. Tiffany's older 2 kids were spending the night elsewhere and Jason took the younger two to play arcade games. We got take out from Cafe Rio and Goldenspoon and then had a dandy time breaking down the dances. I didn't want to go home. And here's the best part...Tiffany is re-decorating part of her house so she gave me some stuff! YIPEE!!! Elliott has some pretty good dance moves himself - he showed us when he got home. I love her kids like they are my own. Which brings me to part 2 of this post:

Here are Liam and Max coloring tonight. Liam is spending the night. It is a first for Max - he's never had anyone spend the night before but has been begging me. Mostly because his older brothers have spend the nights. So far, it has been the best EVER. They have played light sabers, played super heroes, made Lego's and messes and now are coloring. As they color they are discussing Spongebob and how funny they think Patrick is. It does my heart good to see that Max can get along with another child his age. I love to hear their conversations. I tried to video tape one, but my camera didn't have enough memory.

While Max and Liam played, I was able to clean my whole kitchen and organize some cupboards. This made me happy. It is raining. This also makes me happy. All of the arguments, yelling and whining that went on today are a thing of the past. I'm going to make a "Death by Chocolate" cake tomorrow - from scratch! This makes me drool with anticipation.

Life is good.
