Spend the night

In the weeks leading up to Max's birthday, we went back in forth on whether or not he'd have a birthday party. I told him he could either have $50 or a birthday party. At first he wanted the party, but about a week before his birthday he started to negotiate. His first offer: "$60 and a spend the night." I countered with: "$40 and a spend the night." His response? "$50 and a spend the night." Sold!

So...a few weeks after his birthday he had Liam spend the night. Then Ben and Max begged for Christian to come too. So Liam and Christian spent the night. First up: swimming at grandma's.

Then we went to Peter Piper Pizza for pizza and fun. We love that place! After we came home for games. Xander, Max & Liam played laser tag while Ben, Christian and I played 5 Crowns. Ian had 120 minutes on - so we all enjoyed some great music.

The next morning we went for donuts at Bosa. I'm so grateful that my boys have these boys for friends - they are awesome!

and p.s. they all crack me up.

A few weeks ago...

we were invited to attend Liam's baptism. My boys were so excited. I love this picture of these two boys who have been friends since birth. Max can't wait until it's his turn.

Tiffany got suits for all 3 of her boys. Elliott was so excited to show his off. Doesn't he look handsome?

The baptism was awesome (except for the 50 times that Evan needed to go out). Tiffany's mom and Holly both gave excellent talks and Ian was honored to be asked to be a part of the circle to confirm Liam.

Afterwards, I wanted to take a family picture. What a great lookin' bunch! Also, doesn't Tiffany look gorgeous? That girl sure knows how to put together an outfit.
After the baptism, Tiffany and Jason had everyone over for lunch and swimming. My boys were counting down the days. Everyone had a great time.

They also rented an awesome waterslide. I think Evan spent most of his time on it. I wanted to go on it, but I chickened out.

Tayler and some of her friends.

Ummm....look at this super cute purse. I know we're not supposed to covet but....
Evan was waiting for the "big blue chair". He was so excited when it was finally his turn.

We had so much fun. I spent most of the time catching up with friends and Ian spent the whole time chatting with Jason. The boys didn't want to leave- in fact I think we were the last ones to go.

It's been wonderful watching Liam grow and being able to see him be baptized. Congratulations Liam!

Liam turns 8

A few weeks ago Liam celebrated his 8th birthday at Extreme Air.
First up was the velcro wall. The kids took turns putting on velcro suits and them jumping up against the wall.
It was as awesome as it sounds.

My camera wasn't cooperating that day so I didn't get the pictures I wanted, but you get the idea.

They even had adult suits! Tiffany and I want to go back :)

Next up were the foam skateboards.

That way the boys could skate on the trampolines.

Max taking a turn on the velcro wall:

After that the boys jumped and played some dodgeball. Then it was time for pizza, presents and cake!

Blowing out the candles:

Max had a blast! Happy Birthday Liam!

Baseball

When I think of spring, I think baseball. My kids haven't wanted to play for a while so I was happy when we had the opportunity to go see Liam play. Let me just say that Liam is awesome. In fact, he was over the other night and one of my friends said, "I've never met a kid so comfortable with kids and adults." He really is. Anyway, after looking at the pictures I took I am really wishing I had a telephoto lens. Like super wishing. I wish someone could give me camera advice - anyone? anyone?

That's Liam on first. Ready to run.

Here he is out in the field. Max tried to talk to him but ended up getting Liam in trouble. Later Max sat down and watched for a bit with me. When I started to point out what was going on, Max said, "I watch Sports Center mom. I'm pretty sure I know what's going on." It's true. The boys watch Sports Center before school every day.
Christian was there with his friend so they played football for a while.

Evan was mad I didn't bring him any toys.

These two boys have such a love/hate relationship. Luckily it was love that day.
I was glad we went. It was fun to see Liam play. I think that kid would be good at any sport he decided to play. He has natural athletic ability. I'm thankful he's Max's friend.
