Update

Life here is crazy! I have been working on a big project for work. Blah.

Alexander's team is in the playoffs. They won last night - YEAH! Alexander bunted and got to 3rd base on an overthrow. The kid is seriously fast. I missed it because the game started late so I took the other kiddos home. They play again Friday night (sorry Ian - you'll be missing another workout - unless it rains).

Ben refuses to dress warmly. I know, it seems trivial. But I don't want to be the mom that sends her kid to school in shorts and a t-shirt in 59 degree weather. But I am that mom because it's not worth the fight anymore. If he gets sick I will be seriously upset.

Conversation with Max yesterday:
"Mom, how come we didn't bring my Spiderman bike home from grandma's?"

"Because I didn't know we'd be going home before we went back to Grandma's."

"Mom, sometimes you are kinda stupid."

"Max - don't talk to me like that. It hurts my feelings."

"Sorry mom, I love you but it's true."

Evan is INSANE! He climbs everything, gets into everything, tries to break everything. The only things he leaves alone are his toys. On the plus side he gives the best, wettest, sweetest kisses. And he jabbers all of the time.

Ian has been tagged so the next post will be by him. Or I will write his answers for him ;)

P.S. I love that picture. Ben was upset and Max went over to comfort him.

New Shoes

Max wasn't wearing his shoes because he has a cut on his foot

Is there anything better? Alexander and Ben have been needing some new shoes for a while. What's funny is that they both wear the same size shoe! Anyway, last night after dinner we headed over to Kohl's. I walked with the boys and Ian drove the van over (and heckled us on the way - might I add). I'm all about getting as much exercise as I can. First we bought Alexander some church threads. The Primary program is on Sunday and I want him looking his best - plus he's really into ties right now and he only has one. After that we headed over to the shoe department. It was very hard for me to walk right past the women's shoes but I did it! I was really proud of myself. I pretty much let the boys pick out what they wanted. Alexander would've rather gone to Tilly's but I didn't want to go anywhere else plus Kohl's had 50% off their shoes. Xander ended up with some Vans, Ben got some Sketchers and Max (who wasn't supposed to get anything) got some Transformers shoes (which he wanted to sleep in). I felt bad for Max - he never gets anything new.

Action!

My boys love action figures. They have so much fun creating fight scenes and just playing around. I like them because they encourage my kids to use their imagination instead of sitting in front of the t.v. Ben and Max especially love them. When I was downloading pictures off of my camera I found these. Ian must have taken them. Pretty hilarious...

And then there were 3

My mom and dad went to a family reunion this week and took Ben with them. You'd think I'd be jumping for joy at having one less kid. At first it was nice. Ben has been a little whinny and has been tattling ALOT lately. It was really quiet in the house yesterday morning. "I'm going to enjoy this" I thought. Nope. Can't enjoy it. First of all, Ben is a MAJOR help with both Max and Evan. This morning Alexander and Max were fighting for the 50th time and Max says, "I miss Ben - he will play with me". It about broke my heart. Secondly, Ben is a little chatterbox and I've found that I miss that. He has a quirky sense of humor and can always make me laugh. And lastly Ben always gives me an excuse to make cookies. You all might laugh at this but I LOVE to bake - especially cookies. Ben is always asking me to make a treat - which I usually do. Yesterday I asked Alexander if we should make cookies and he says, "Why?". Sheez, some people ruin all my fun.

Park Date

Trina called this morning and wanted us to go to the park. Since I know she's going to be moving soon I want to spend all the time I can with her and her adorable kids. I asked the boys and they all wanted to go. We didn't stay too long (it's dang hot out) but we still had lots of fun. The park has a little water place and the kids ran around splashing and playing. It did my heart good to see the boys having fun just playing with each other. Evan was so cute - everytime a water drop would hit his face he would breathe really fast and then smile. It was a fun way to start our day!
