Matthea turns 3!

 On the way home from the cabin we stopped by Matthea's birthday party.  I can't believe she's 3!

We all had a great time.  I love spending time with family. 

Memorial Day

 We left the cabin early on Memorial Day so we could celebrate with a BBQ and swim at Ian's parents' house.  Josh came with us.

 I love spending time with Ian's family and especially with my niece Matthea.  She is such a bright, adorable girl.

 Watermelon!  I don't like watermelon so the boys were thrilled to be getting it at Nana and Papa's.

 Xander tried on my glasses.  I think he look pretty awesome in them.

 It was such a fun way to spend the day.

Matthea

 Something is up with blogger and I haven't been able to post all week.  It's stressing me out.  I finally was able to post using a difference browser but it still sucks.  UGGG! 

A few weeks ago Sean and Meg invited us to go to the BBQ festival with them in downtown Chandler.  We walked around, ate good food and listened to awesome music.  After a while the boys wanted to go home so I took them and Matthea back to the house.  Everyone else stayed to hear Face to Face play. 

The boys love Matthea.  She is so much fun.  First we took her to the park. 

 Then we went back to the house to make cookies.  Matthea kept asking about the baking salt?  She was cracking us up.

After the cookies Ben and Max played with her for a long time.  She kept "sneaking" as she liked to call it.  She'd crouch and walk and her tip toes.  It was hilarious.

I love spending time with my nieces :)

Superbowl!

We had Ian's family over to watch the Superbowl. When it started the only one in front of the tv was Max. It's no big surprise. That boy is a sports NUT! It doesn't matter if he's playing or watching (although he prefers to be playing) he loves sports!

The rest of us were in the kitchen, snacking.

Except Evan- who was dressed up, ready to go exploring outside.
Finally a few more people filtered into the living room to watch.

Xan took Matthea downstairs to play with Roxy.


Then Meg and I took the younger boys and Matthea to the park to play. They weren't really into the game.

I love spending time with Meg and Matthea. It was a fun day - especially since we celebrated Betty's birthday too. :)

Matthea turns 2

July 16th was a busy day! After Max's baptism luncheon, we headed over to Ian's parents house to celebrate this darling girl's birthday:

We started off by swimming in the pool. My kids love Nana and Papa's pool because it is shaded and stays really cool. They spent 90% of their time in the pool.

How cute is this boy? I really wish he would stay 4 forever.
Ian's mom bought a snow cone machine especially for the occasion. I love myself a good snow cone.
JD helped dish them out.
After a little while, Sean swam with the birthday girl and her cousin.
Matthea was so funny - we'd say, "Lay back and relax" and she'd lay back.

After pool time we came in to sing happy birthday. The cake had a picture of the birthday girl! Evan loved it :)

Present time! Evan was excited until he noticed that Matthea was getting all girl stuff. He quickly lost interest.




Harry Potter showed up.


The best present was outside. Nana and Papa bought Matthea a bbq/kitchen set. She loved it! It was so fun to watch her play with her cousin.

We bought Matthea some gloves and a purse. I feel kinda bad because I have a feeling Meg is going to be putting those gloves on 1,000 times a day.
She had them off in .2 seconds after Meg put them on.

We had such a fun time helping Matthea celebrate her 2nd birthday.
