Today our soccer season officially started. Xander, Ben and Max are all playing. I didn't get a picture of Xander because he wouldn't let me (and I didn't go to his game - Ian did). But I'll eventually get one and post it when I do. I'm so glad that Ben and Xander are on teams with kids they know. Ben is so excited to be playing with not only the kids he goes to school with but also one of his best friends - his cousin James! They are alot alike and love being together.
Ben lost his game, but Xander and Max won theirs. I was most excited about going to Max's game because I knew it would be entertaining - and I wasn't disappointed. The high point was when Max exclaimed, "I'm so good at defense!" I'm pretty sure he has no idea what that statement means. But he had such a great time and enjoyed being the center of attention. :)
After soccer Tiffany came over and we headed out to Fashion Square. I could spend all day there (wait - I did!). We hit Macy's, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Gap, JCrew and American Eagle. It's nice to shop with Tiffany for the simple fact that she knows I like to buy multiples of the same items (black t-shirts and jean shorts are current addictions) and she will try and talk me out of it. She always encourages me to spice up my wardrobe and will tell me the truth about what I try on. Yeah, she's cool like that.
Ian was great about staying home and watching the kids - plus he mopped the floors! I'm a lucky girl.

Liz called and informed me that she had left over food from her Evan's birthday party and did I want some? Uhhh...is a frog's ass water-tight? She loaded me up with chicken salad, rolls and CHOCOLATE CAKE! I'm hoping that it takes her a while to realize that she's totally getting the short end of the stick where our friendship is concerned.
Retail therapy and chocolate cake make the world a better place.
P.S. I'm not upset at Max's teacher. She's an awesome lady and I know I don't have the full story (only hearing Max's side). I'm still waiting for her to e-mail me back. Max has forgotten all about it (he's got soccer and Ben on the brain).
Today Xander was playing with Michael at my mom's - jumping on the trampoline. He spotted a gopher in the corner by the wall. When he was proudly recounting the events he told me that when he poked it on the back the gopher stood on it's hind legs- teeth bared. Alexander then killed the creature quickly and swiftly (I really don't want to go into the gory details). He called my dad.
My dad was one proud grandpa. That particular gopher has been taunting him for months. He told Xander to throw the gopher over the fence (he did).
